GLIE DECEMBER 4TH EVENT
...featuring live music from 'Nations' and our featured keynote speaker, Dr. Spottswood
It is our pleasure to announce the first event for one of Lafayette’s newest non-profit organizations, Greater Lafayette Intellectual Entertainment (GLIE). GLIE is dedicated to bringing entertainment to the area that is both engaging and intellectual. These events most often involve live music and intellectual speakers.

- WHERE: Knickerbocker Saloon
- TIME: 7pm
- WHAT: Live music will be performed by 'Nations' and our intellectual speaker this evening will be Dr. Philip Spottswood.
- COST: FREE-ish...

Nations is three piece pop/rock group that calls Lafayette home. With lyrics that transcend words to become an additional instrument, audience members are compelled to smile and tap their feet. Watching Nations perform is simply fun in its purest form.
Dr. Philip J. Spottswood is a clinical psychologist who has been involved in community (mental) health care for more than 20 years. He has recently developed a company, CARE FAMILY LLC to provide low-cost supportive housing solutions for the frail elderly and adults with developmental disabilities. CARE FAMILY, LLC. uses a therapeutic community model developed by Dr. George "Bill" Fairweather. The model allows the frail elderly to help adults with developmental disabilities who are in turn physically able to assist the frail elderly. This arrangement allows both groups to experience a dramatic improvement in their quality of life. Rather than maximizing profits Dr. Spottswood's company seeks to maximize the number of persons served by keeping costs to a minimum with the use of existing resources and the realization that every human being can help and, when needed, receive help.
